Rescheduled from the original date of May 7.

With the completion of the Wabash & Erie Canal in 1853, Evansville became the terminus of the longest canal in the western hemisphere.  The prosperity from the canal, which Evansville had long hoped for, was, however, short-lived.  Within a decade, the railroad had replaced the canal at Evansville.

This free presentation is in partnership with the City of Evansville's Dept. of Metropolitan Development Historic Preservation office in celebration of Historic Preservation Month.
