Embrace a piece of southwestern Indiana's history as Jon Carl, US History, Reitz High School presents “Bucyrus-Erie and the Strike of 1948.”

In the summer of 1948 Evansville was rocked by labor unrest. One of the city's largest labor unions would do battle with one of the city's largest employers. When the workers of the United Electrical Radio & Machinist Union clashed with Bucyrus Erie on Evansville's Westside, it brought violence, legal challenges, hundreds of the state police and a Congressional investigation to town.  This is the story of that battle.
